Ephesians 6:10-12

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Questions to consider:
  • From where do we get our strength?
  • Why do we need the armor of God?
  • Who is our struggle against? What will protect us from these things?
Possibilities for prayer:

When life feels overwhelming, it's easy to feel that the source of our struggles is clearly identifiable in the people around us, the situations in which we find ourselves, etc. But these verses suggest that there's more going on than what we can see with our physical eyes: there's a struggle with spiritual forces as well. And those spiritual forces can be much more trouble than even the physical ones we can easily identify.

Let's pray for verse 10 especially to be true in our lives. Let's ask God to bestow upon us the "strength of his power." Let's ask for insight to know what that means for our individual lives, as well as its clear and mighty presence within us.
